Fresh flowers have such a soft, delicate feel, and they carry a deep symbolism, especially when paired with newborns – they represent new life, growth, and the blossoming of something beautiful.

I love using flowers from my own garden and those of my kind neighbor. Each bloom has its own character, and together they create the perfect backdrop for capturing those precious early moments. From soft pastel petals to vibrant blooms, every flower has a unique shape, color, and fragrance that can enhance the overall aesthetic of a photo session. It’s the natural beauty of the flowers that complements the purity and innocence of a newborn, creating images that are both timeless and full of life.

Some of the flowers I’ve used in the past include delicate daisies, the soft pink hues of cherry blossoms, dogwood flowers, beautiful rhodos, lilac, lavender, and fragrant thyme. I also love the vibrant colors of tulips, poppies, and even the large, show-stopping poppies that add so much character to a session. And of course, my absolute favorite flower to use is the peony. There’s something so romantic and soft about peonies, and they add such a dreamy feel to any photo session. I simply adore them!

No two flowers are exactly the same, and they are always changing with the seasons, so no two photos are ever alike.
