Shop and Shoot Photo Event for International Women’s Day in Cloverdale
Hosted by Elizabeth Lang Photography in Cloverdale, BC
March 8, 2025, marked a special celebration for International Women’s Day in Cloverdale, BC, and what better way to honor women than by combining two of our favorite things: supporting local businesses and capturing beautiful memories! To celebrate the day, I hosted a unique Shop and Shoot photo event in partnership with local businesses to highlight and support women in the community.
This year’s event was a perfect blend of fashion, fun, and photography, all while giving back to our wonderful town of Cloverdale. The event took place inside Clothesline Consignment, a cozy, community-focused shop that proudly showcases women-owned businesses. I set up a mini photo corner at the back of the store with a simple yet elegant backdrop—a clean white sheet and strobe light—creating a soft and timeless space for photos. To add a touch of beauty and vibrance, I brought in lovely floral accents from Thrive Greenery, another local, women-owned business here in Cloverdale. The flowers added just the right amount of spring-like cheer to the space, despite the dreary weather outside.
Throughout the day, guests had the chance to browse the fantastic collection of consigned clothing at Clothesline while sipping on bubbly and champagne. The atmosphere was lively and welcoming as shoppers chatted and explored the store, and many stopped by my little photo corner for a quick 10-minute mini photoshoot. It was the perfect way to capture some fun memories while supporting local women in business.

To make the event even more exciting, I offered an exclusive giveaway—a chance to win a free mini session with Elizabeth Lang Photography! Clients were invited to enter the contest and could drop their entries while enjoying the event. To keep the little ones entertained while parents shopped and took their photos, I had coloring sheets and candy available as a special treat. It was wonderful seeing the kids excited and engaged while their parents posed for their mini session!
After their photos were taken, each client was given store credit to shop at Clothesline, encouraging even more local shopping. It was a lovely way to bring the community together and celebrate the accomplishments of women in business. While the weather outside was wet and dreary, inside it felt like the first hints of spring—full of life, energy, and endless possibilities.
This event was a wonderful reminder of how powerful and supportive the Cloverdale community is. Not only did we celebrate the amazing women who run businesses here, but we also created lasting memories for families while encouraging local shopping and supporting our favorite stores.
I am so grateful to everyone who participated in the Shop and Shoot photo event, and I’m looking forward to hosting more community-centered events in the future. Thank you for making International Women’s Day 2025 in Cloverdale so special!
A special thank you to Clothesline Consignment for welcoming me and all my gear into their store! I always enjoy trying new things and making new connections.
